Triplet (2024)
The work "Triplet" explores my relationship with my two brothers. The installation consists of paintings on various materials,
construction fencing, stones, ceramics, rebar, wood, and mdf. The materials used refer to different memories from our upbringing
together.
The green sound-absorbing textile on “A” represents playing. The construction fencing that separates
the pieces in the room symbolizes inaccessible spaces that we were often drawn to. The pile of stones and ceramics in “I” is a
reference to the stone cairns we frequently built outdoors. The wooden object growing out of the pile represents the act of
random creation, the rewarding feeling of building something with your own hands—something crafted out of pure curiosity
for materials and tools.
The way the objects are placed in the room shows a dialogue between the three of us as brothers. The search for individual personality,
the security felt in being one of three, a unit. The desire to find one’s own identity while wanting to maintain the relationship with each other.
The fear of separation.
