Kurbits (2023)
I remember the red pepper mill filled with white pepper. It was in the kitchen by the stove in my grandparents old house in Mariefred.
Previously, it spent its days in Hedemora where my mother grew up. The paint had begun to peel, it had cracks all over.
It was rarely used but still had to be there. It was important.
I often looked at the hand painted patterns on it and felt the cracks. It was fragile but always stood firmly in place.
Nearly two decades later, it sits in my kitchen, rarely used. But just as important now.
